Lintel Trust celebrates third grant award to Cassiltoun Housing Association

Cassiltoun Housing

Cassiltoun Housing Association has received its third grant through the Lintel Trust Reduce, Reuse and Recycle Project, marking another milestone in the organisation’s commitment to sustainability and community-led action in Castlemilk.

Originally launched as a small step towards greener working practices, Cassiltoun’s approach has developed into a strong local example of how environmental action can be driven by communities. The organisation continues to promote recycling and explore innovative ways to reuse materials, helping to embed sustainable habits across the area.

Last year, Lintel Trust awarded Cassiltoun an additional £500 to build on this work. When combined with earlier funding, Cassiltoun now has a total of £1,000 available through its Love Castlemilk Live Castlemilk participatory budgeting programme.

The impact of this programme has been further strengthened by the support of additional funders, bringing the total funding pot for community ideas in Castlemilk to £43,000.

A key feature of the initiative is that all eligible applications will be presented to local residents, who will decide which projects receive funding. This participatory budgeting model ensures that decisions are shaped directly by the people who live in the community.

Residents with ideas for environmental, creative or community-focused projects are encouraged to contact Cassiltoun Housing Association to find out how to apply.

Applications close on Friday 27 February at 4pm.

Lintel Trust is proud to support organisations such as Cassiltoun Housing Association in leading positive change and looks forward to seeing the next wave of community-led projects emerge across Castlemilk.
