Fund Management & Partnerships

Lintel Trust works with organisations that want to create meaningful social value for people and communities across Scotland. We work with partners to turn charitable donations, procurement-related community benefits and other available funds into practical support for local charities, voluntary groups and community-led projects.

Why partner with us?

We understand Scotland’s social housing and community sectors, and we are committed to supporting grassroots activity that improves lives and places. Our role is to make it easier for partners to direct funding where it can have the greatest impact, while keeping decision-making clear, accountable and aligned with charitable purpose.

Building social value together

Every organisation has opportunities to create social value through the choices it makes — from procurement and supply chains to charitable giving and community investment. By working with Lintel Trust, partners can connect those opportunities to local need and support projects that deliver practical, measurable benefit.

Our partnership offer

  • Support fair, transparent and proportionate distribution of community benefit funding.

  • Use local knowledge to help partners identify projects that meet real community priorities.

  • Help community organisations evidence outcomes and demonstrate the difference their work makes.

  • Share learning, insight and case studies to strengthen future social value activity.

Key partner: Scottish Procurement Alliance

Lintel Trust is proud to work in partnership with Scottish Procurement Alliance (SPA) to manage their Community Benefit Fund. As part of the LHC Procurement Group, a not-for-profit organisation, SPA reinvests surplus generated through its public sector procurement activity into community benefit funding, helping partners support projects that respond to local needs and create positive social value across Scotland.

Through this partnership, Lintel Trust supports the fair and effective management of the fund, working with SPA and its Committee Partners to help identify eligible community projects, strengthen applications, source match funding where appropriate and evidence the impact delivered for local people and places.

How SPA Community Benefit funding is allocated

The SPA Community Benefit Fund is distributed through a number of allocation routes, helping ensure funding is responsive to local priorities, partner commitments and smaller-scale community opportunities.

Associate Partner allocation
Every customer of SPA, known as an associate partner, has the opportunity to qualify for Community Benefit Fund allocation. The size of the allocation depends on how much an associate partner uses SPA procurement frameworks.

Regional Committee allocation
Associate partners who have a seat on a Regional Committee, within one of LHCPG’s Regional Business Units, receive a CBF allocation based on attendance.

Small Benefits allocation:
Any associate partner who has delivered a framework or Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) project within their region in the last financial year, can apply for a grant from the Small Benefits Fund. Grant requests of £1,000–£5,000 can be submitted.

LHCPF Board allocation
Associate partners who have a seat on the LHC Procurement Group Board, receive a CBF allocation based on attendance.
